Terms of Service

The terms below apply to anyone reading Back Porch Sill Field Guide, and come down to one point: general information is not advice about a particular job.

Use at Your Own Risk

The reader decides what to do with what they read here. No liability is accepted for loss or cost arising from acting on published guidance, to the fullest extent the law permits.

Copyright

The writing on this site is not free for reuse. Attribution with a link earns a quotation; scraping the page does not.

Currency of the Content

Every effort is made to keep this material correct, without any guarantee that it is. Standards and costs shift over time, and a reader should confirm anything that materially affects a decision.

Not Advice for Your Job

These guides address the typical case, never a particular property. A qualified professional assessing the property in person is the appropriate source for that, and their assessment takes precedence over anything written in advance.

Third Party Sites

Where an outside site is linked, it is because it is relevant. A link is a pointer, not a recommendation of whoever is at the other end of it.

Changes

Terms can change over time. Earlier versions are superseded rather than archived.
